you can piece together in your mind a complete picture of the whole length and breadth of England by ascending to a few notable viewpoints, and seeing for yourself the lie of the land. You realize how small England is, and how rich in scenery, and through the knowledge thus gained you can attain a deeper love for the country. It is the same with any good corner of the world—to know it completely is to grow fond of it; familiarity breeds not disdain but affection.
